Get “Chocolate Wasted” with handcrafted artisan ice cream & paleta
Chocolate Wasted, 724 Telephone road, Houston’s First Urban Ice Cream Bus & Small Batch Creamery Shop is the perfect place to enjoy the official final days of summer!
After enjoying a super spicy meal from my favorite Thai joint, my date and I mosyed over to Chocolate Wasted, a quaint and uber cute ice cream shop serving up cups and cones of delicious, handcrafted artisan ice cream. ” We started at rock bottom and worked our way up with our bare hands”, stated owner Julian, who holds down the fort at their Eastwood brick & mortar. After tasting literally all of their nine delicious flavors, it’s clear that this mom & pop shop can unequivocally compete with other Houston house hold names. Their whimsical flavors are made with locally sourced, real ingredients.
Following my sampling session, I was sold. Flavors like Key Lime, White Chocolate Cherry Poppy Seed, their famous Chocolate Wasted, and Blueberry Lavender were great! Just when I thought I was going to pop, Julian brings out a secret stash of their newest flavor, Banana Nut! It was rich, smooth, and oh-so creamy. The crunch from the almonds brought it all together. Though I’ve never been a Bluebell Ice Cream fan, I am/was partial to their banana nut, but in the words of gospel singer LaShun Pace, “I know I’ve been changed.”

In addition to their ice cream selections, Chocolate Wasted also offers buñuelos, paleta and ice cream sandwiches. Pro Tip: Grab a pint of your favorite flavor to go! The mini fridge is stocked with their classics and fan favorites for quick pick ups. Chocolate Wasted also delivers! So when you hit that afternoon slump and need a little pick me up, give them a call and tell them Gristle & Gossip sent you!
