Beer Market Co. – 365 Varieties of bomb ass beers!
Beer Market Co. is a causal spot where hundreds of beers are paired with creative bar bites, craft drinks & TVs.
It’s no surprise that I LOVE CRAFT BEER, so when I stumbled upon Beer Market Co. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. They have the largest beer selection in Houston and with over 365 varieties to choose from even the pickiest beer snob can find something to wet their whistle.
When you walk in all you see is beer.. draft beers, craft beers, beers on tap, 6 packs of beer and a refrigerator with brightly lit shelves lined from corner to corner with an assortment of beers from all over the country!! In addition to the abundance of beer they have a full bar, specialty cocktails and a full food menu.
I had my heart set on a cold beer upon arrival, but the night before my visit was pretty rough. I just couldn’t do it.. “She wasn’t ready” (Kevin Hart voice).. so I opted for a spicy Bloody Mary. As soon as Grace, our server, left the table I thought, what idiot orders anything BUT beer at a BEER place? I just new it was going to be awful.. but to my surprise it was damn good!! Super spicy like my tummy needed and I was ready to eat and get some beers after that!
Beer Market Co. has a couple crowd favorites on their menu that have to be tried. The Brew Pretzels + Real Ale “Hans Pils” Cheese Dip. Creamy velvet cheese dip with “Hans Pils” craft beer and roasted garlic served alongside warm pretzels. The bread is so soft and warm and melts in your mouth. The beer cheese can be consumed just like the beer, pick up the bowl and drink it… just kidding.
The finger friendly Fried Mac’ N Cheese Balls are bite sized balls of creamy mac ‘n cheese deep fried to golden perfection, served with spicy tomato sauce. These are really the only balls I enjoy (see how I did that?) and they were even better the next day. Crispy. Crunchy.Creamy.
One can never go wrong with Tacos. We ordered 2 different types: The Short Rib Tacos were succulent and paired with BMC’s signature slaw and a creamy sriracha style crème fraiche sauce. The “Gulden DRAAK” Beer chicken tacos were insanely good.
I think I loved them so much because I could taste the Gulden Draak in the slaw. As a fan of the flavors that came from dark, Belgian beers it was a hit with the marinated grilled chicken. I paired my tacos with an “off menu” Bourbon Barrel Palmares by Cycler’s Brewing (Montgomery, TX). It was bold, thick and tasted of chocolate!
A family member joined us during our visit and ordered the lemon pepper wings. She literally makes the best LPW’s in the world, so why she ordered that I have no idea. I thought they were grand.. I could have used more lemony flavor but at this point we were stuffed to our eyeballs and really only wanted beers! Our last round of the afternoon – as It was only 1 pm at this point – was Brother Thelonious – Belgian Style Abbey Ale. Deep, rich and complex… like me.
Daut Elshani, GM of Beer Market Co. just couldn’t let us escape without trying a couple awesome desserts. Now, in a previous post about Bovine & Barley I said I’d never do ice cream and beer together ever again… but I lied!!
Beer Market Co. has this Deep Fried Cheesecake that made me feel like I was back in my hometown at the state fair and the Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled in rich chocolate made me feel like I should buy my pants one size larger moving forward . Both were delicious but you can’t leave without getting the cheesecake. OH MY GOSH!!
Beer Market Co. has daily specials and Happy Hour Monday – Friday from 2:00 – 7:00 pm $1 off all beers and $2 off all cocktails. They also have over 30 HDTV flat-screens to catch the latest sporting events and 2 dog friendly patio areas for you and the pooch to enjoy the breeze and beers.. well not the dog!!
