Lincoln Bar + Kitchen: Washington Ave’s newest hot spot!
Lincoln Bar + Kitchen is a Modern, sports-oriented hangout with a patio offering creative cocktails & New American bites.
Lincoln Bar + Kitchen is Washington Avenue’s newest patio palace and should be your go to spot if soaking up some sun and cocktails happens to be on your agenda this summer. Formerly, Brixx Houston, Lincoln Bar +Kitchen is certainly claiming this space as its own and has already become the “talk ” the Washington “regulars.” I visited for their private grand opening where guests were treated to complimentary cocktails and menu highlights. Our hostess Megan was awesome and excited about the new energy Lincoln will add to Washington Ave. Read more on LB+K here.
We made sure to truly taste the cocktails so that a proper review of them could be shared. We tried the Pony Express, Pineapple Pisco Punch and Four Score. They were all delicious and very subtle and soft..like us lady folk!
The Pony Express was a play on the Moscow Mule but with Kettle One Vodka. They were served in the cutest copper mugs ever. Those things start disappearing like hot cakes at other venues in town. If you aren’t a fan of sour leave the Pisco Punch for the next man because the pineapple on top of the Pisco, left me with the pucker face.
For those into sweeter cocktails that also pack a punch you have to sip and savor the Four Score. The mango rum + ginger liqueur make this cocktail sing!
The bites were just as scrumptious. Lincoln Bar + Kitchen’s menu is nothing but comfort food. delectable little gems that you can eat with your hands. The two items that YOU MUST TRY are the beer-battered pork or jalapeno cheese tamales topped with roasted habanero spinach dip and the crispy chicken skewers marinated skin on thigh meat served with jalapeno cilantro ranch dipping sauce.
Anything on a stick is meant to be ravished. I ate the whole plate of skewers before I knew it and then I was sad.
This place should be at the top of your list for the summer time simply because it’s basically all patio and great for all sized parties. They have long picnic tables with fun, interactive games like, life sized Jinga . Towards the back there is a raised, cooled patio area that can be reserved for private parties as well as small “nooks” for a more inmate setting.
Pulling up to Lincoln’s Full bar is an option too! The waitresses are friendly and have great recommendations but with only one bar, on busy nights it can get a little too tight for chit chat..Make sure to stop in for happy hour and daily specials. It’s a great place for after work cocktails with the group. A very welcoming, laid-back environment even for those that don’t drink and that’s rare in Houston.
