GOOGLE #CityExperts – “The Art of Reviewing” at The Mariago Collective
Last night the Houston #CityExperts attended “The Art of Reviewing” where the “newbies” learned how to review on Google while mingling with other awesome community members.
Best of all were the complimentary brews from No Label Brewing Co. and local fare provided by Backstreet Cafe. CityExperts dabbled in fun hands-on activities, including a Google-inspired splatter paint project, a “Best of Houston” interactive map, and a self-guided exhibit of Houston’s famous local art pieces.
The lite bites were just ok. I’ve heard amazing things about Backstreet Cafe but sadly the bulk of the items served were mediocre. I will say that the crab cakes were amazing! I LOVE Beer, so when I saw No Label I was super Krunk, but sadly my two favorites — Mint IPA and Don Jalapeno Ale, were missing. The Jalapeno would have been perfect for the chilly weather!
The backdrop for this event was The Mariago Collective. Located in the Piedmont Park area The Mariago Collective is a gallery bringing together forward-thinking artists, curators, and collectors. As a collaboration of creative minds, The Mariago Collective invites guest curators to foster an array of regional and international artists. A full range of media, from traditional painting and sculpture, to conceptual and performance art creates a dynamic program.
Founders Ferdinand and Rachel Andres are constantly on the lookout for artists, thinkers, makers and dreamers who create with immeasurable talent, passion and diversity. Stop by and say hello!
There’s nothing like being a part of a diverse group of like-minded individuals. Especially when those minds know the best eateries and bars in the city! Interested in learning more about Google CityExperts? Read more here!
