Dean’s Downtown is a quaint little gem, tucked away at the end of Main st. near Moving Sidewalk and the Pastry War. With direct access to the metro rail this bar is a chill little spot not to be ignored, but unfortunately often is.

Owners Bobby and Diego are known for opening their space to local talent by spotlighting local artists and musicians. Currently they are highlighting local musicians in their Houston Songwriter Series which features three of the best Houston Songwriters performing in the round and recorded live every Sunday 8-10 pm. All shows are free.

You can watch some past performances HERE.

They have a menu of good selections to please the liquor, beer or wine drinker. Donnol, the Bartender, toted that their Old Fashions are “the best in Houston!” Make sure you try one — $5 for Happy Hour! I enjoyed Dean’s because it’s easy on a Thursday night. Great place for a girls gathering or after work happy hour. The couches are comfy and the company at the bar isn’t bad either should you find yourself chatting it up with Jodi or the local magician Theo…actually you might not see Theo.
